Adobe Character Animator * revolutionized the world of character animation. The software is constantly developing and it becomes easier and easier for ordinary people to create animated videos.
Although creating animation using this software is very straightforward, creating the puppets is a bit of a more complex process. Luckily by 2023, there are plenty of free puppets you can download and use for your projects. Some of those puppets are created by Adobe and are available on the official Adobe website, others are created by independent artists (just like us at Animation Guides).
Here is a giant list with 75 free puppets and the features those come with:

Nice collection. Thanks a lot Katia.
Hello Katia –
I love your work and envision seeing chunks of my ministry budget coming your way in the future!
I am the children’s pastor of a small church(less than 100 people) in Peculiar, MO. I did several animation shorts using Adobe Animator for the last series of lessons we had in kids church and the kids (plus me) are hooked on the animations.
This Sunday we are starting an 8 week army based series of lessons called Bible Basics. The material contains a script for each Sunday with a Sargent and Private. For lack of actors, I plan to do this with animation.
I see some army puppets for sale on your website that may work but buying 2 of them is going to be difficult with my budget. I was hoping you had some free army puppets available.
If I bought one puppet, would I be able to modify it enough to make it look like 2 different puppets in my animation? If that is possible, which puppet would you suggest? Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated.
Again, your work is fantastic and your puppets are reasonably priced. I do plan to buy some in the future. For right now, I am just trying to stretch my budget.
Allen
Allen Hi,
Thank you for the positive feedback. There are no free army puppets available right now on the website. It is possible to modify the art of a puppet. To do that you need to right click on the puppet in the project panel ( while in adobe character animator) and select “Edit Original”. The art will be opened in Adobe Illustrator. It is important to keep the hierarchy, layer names and proportions the same to not break the rig. After saving the .ai souce file the art will be updated in adobe Character Animator. The source art file is broken into lots of layers and sub layers , many of them hidden. I believe some familiarity with puppet structure is required to be able to modify them properly.
you have done a nice work..well done
